Daily Readings: Joshua 11 and Psalm 11

Joshua and the Israelites had just completed an exhausting campaign, having come under attack from five kings and having defeated them with the Lord’s powerful intervention (Joshua 10). Now, no sooner are they back in camp again than the next alliance of kings rise up to war against Israel. They raise a massive army and swarm down on God’s people. I can imagine how I might have groaned, “Aah no! Not again!”

Heavenly Father, help me today to face every challenge that comes my way, even when it feels as though its just one thing after another, wave after wave of difficulty coming at me. May Your courage fill me and give me the ability to rise up and face each challenge with faith-filled confidence. May Your wisdom help me to navigate my way safely through every sitaution. May Your power grant me victory the way it did for Joshua and Israel. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
