Daily Readings: Joshua 14 and Psalm 14

The 85-year-old Caleb declared to his commander and friend, Joshua: “‘You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as He said.’” (Joshua 14:12) Neither age, nor any other factor, can ever disqualify anyone from accomplising what the Lord has spoken over us. If God has said it, we can accomplish it in His strength.

Heavenly Father, I remember the promises You have spoken over my life – in Scripture, in ministry times, and in my personal moments of listening to Your voice. Give me the gift of faith to rise up and lay hold of all that You have promised me, regardless of the odds that may be stacked against me. Make me bold and courageous as Caleb. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
