Daily Readings: Joshua 21 and Psalm 21

In Psalm 21, David expresses absolute trust in the Lord and His love, saying: “For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.” (v.7) This trust was decidedly well placed. As Joshua 21 boldly proclaims: “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” (v.45) God has always been absolutely faithful to His promises. His faithfulness to us is not only based on His immutable character, but also on His perfect love for us. He will never let us down, because He loves us with an undeserved and everlasting love.

Heavenly Father, I entrust myself and all of today’s challenges to Your loving care, knowing that You have promised to work all things for the good of those who love You. I know that whatever comes my way, You will hold me in the palm of Your hand, strengthen me to cope, and ultimately bring about my highest best. I praise You for Your love, and for Your work in my world. Amen.
