Today the daily devotions reached the end of one focus, and a new focus will begin from Monday. Here’s the story behind that…
Last year, the leadership of the Church I currently serve, Walmer Methodist, discerned three very clear calls/foci from God for 2023. We as a local Church are called to be a Church that connects people to God, to each other and to the world around us. So for the next four weeks our Church’s Sermon Series, Grow Group Studies and Bible Reading Plan (see below) will all be focussed on the calls to:
- Connect to God deeply and passionately through worship;
- Connect to each other (within the Church Family) through deliberate, genuine, sincere, loving relationships of mutual support, care and fellowship.
- Connect with the world – that is, with the people, community and world around us (outside the Church Family) in order to be a blessing in the Lord’s Name.
- Covenant with God to do all of this together as the Family of God.
So, over the next four weeks, these daily devotionals will follow those themes and will be based on the following Bible Reading Plan. If you are planning to follow the devotionals, I suggest doing the reading for each day and reflecting on it personally first, and then only later reading this Blog of my devotional thoughts around the passage. Let’s allow the Lord to speak to us from His Word.
