Daily Reading: Luke 9:51-62

Lord Jesus, I worship You for Your sacrificial love. You were absolutely resolute in Your commitment to living out the Father’s plan for our salvation, even when that plan led to a Cross.

Lord, please forgive Me for the moments my commitment to living out Your plan for the salvation of others has wavered in the face of rejection and I, like James and John, have begun to treat Your loved ones with contempt instead of compassion. Please forgive me for the moments when other relationships, responsibilities, pursuits and priorities have crowded out my commitment to live for You and fulfil Your calling to reach the lost and establish Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Holy Spirit, please grant me a single-mindedness in living out my part of Your plan for the salvation of the world. Help me to present the Good News of the saving love of God in Christ Jesus to others in both word and deed, and not to be derailed by distractions, diversions or rejection. Make me fit for service in the Kingdom of God.
