Worship His Wisdom

Daily Readings: James 3:13-18 and Romans 11:33-36

We’ve been seeing all week how James extols the virtues of divine wisdom and calls us to humbly trust God’s plan and pursue a life of practical wisdom – thereby expressing our deep love for God, inheriting the rich blessings God has in store for us, and avoiding the pitfalls of “earthly wisdom”.

Therefore, it’s so appropriate to end the work-week today on a note of worshipping God for His incredible wisdom. And there’s no better passage to help us do so than Romans 11:33-36. In context, the apostle Paul was praising the wondrous wisdom of God’s plan to redeem all humanity through Jesus, but we can apply and adopt this beautiful hymn of praise ourselves because every aspect of God’s wisdom and knowledge are beyond our comprehension and worthy of our awe.

So take a moment to consider how God’s wisdom has impacted your life this week, then thank God for the gift of His wisdom and join in the prayer of worship as we praise God for His wisdom in the words of Romans 11. And if you need some music to help you, here’s an old worship song by Scott Underwood, called To Him be the Glory, to aid your worship.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counsellor?’
35 ‘Who has ever given to God,
    that God should repay them?’
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

Romans 11:33-36
