Psalm of the Day: Psalm 3

All-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present LORD,
When I am overwhelmed by the prideful, selfish intentions
of those who cut me down with words or deeds
believing they are right, that You are on their side, and that all is lost for me –
I choose to look into Your loving gaze and put my trust in You.
The battle belongs to You, and so I pray –
Preserve me from becoming like that myself.
Preserve me from ‘fighting fire with fire’.
Preserve me from being silenced by the power of manipulation and intimidation.
Rob them of their power over me.
Grant me Your deep peace and freedom from fear.
Grant me the power to stand firm in the courage of my convictions.
Grant me never to stray from Your way and your Spirit.
Let their plotting be their own downfall before I even say a word.
Let Your Kingdom come.
Let Your will be done.
Amen.
