Psalm of the Day: Psalm 4

Almighty God, My Saviour and Defender,
I give You thanks and praise, for You have
Chosen me graciously to be Your very own,
Helped me in every time of trouble,
Heard my every prayer,
And always come to my aid.
You have given me an abundance of joy
that far outweighs any blessing of wealth or ease.

Lord,
When I am slandered and insulted,
When lies and rumours about me are spread far and wide,
I choose to rejoice in You, to trust You, and so I pray –
In the depths of their hearts, please:
Convict my adversaries of their wrongdoing,
Cause them to see my uprightness and to realise the injustice of their ways,
Draw them each to the place of repentance, and
Forgive them by Your grace.

And now, Lord, I pray:
Give me such deep peace of heart and mind in Your loving presence,
that I may be at perfect rest and stillness in every storm I face
For You are my Defender, and I shall not fear!
Amen.
