Psalm 7

Lord my God,
You are my Protector and my Shield.
In the conflicts raging around me,
I pray only that Your righteousness and justice may prevail.

If and when I am in the wrong
and have caused harm to others,
please forgive me,
help me to do what is right
and use my repentance to restore Your perfect shalom and justice.

But when I am faced with those
wanting only to destroy me
to advance their own selfish agendas and hunger for power …
Rise up and come to my aid, O Mighty Lord.
Convict them of their wickedness!
Lead them to repentance and restore us to shalom!

But,
if they harden their hearts,
refuse to repent,
and are determined to destroy me,
then crush the power of evil,
wipe out the power of the destroyer,
throw into confusion those aligned against me.
Vindicate me,
and let them be destroyed
in the trap they thought they were setting for me!

Lord, my God,
You are my Protector and my Shield,
and I trust in You.
Amen!
