Another new week of Bible reading and devotion begins. Remember, the idea is that each of us should read the daily Psalm prayerfully, listen for what the Lord is saying to us, and then write a prayer based on the Psalm. By doing so, we are praying the Word of God; and that’s powerful!
The daily posts are my personal prayers based on each Psalm.
LORD, You are my Refuge, my safe place!
How pointless it is when people advise me to be very worried
about the plots and plans against me.
They advise me to be frightened and to flee from those who seek my downfall.
What a joke!
Why on earth would I need to flee
from puny human beings and their wicked scheming?
LORD,
You are with me and within me.
You reign over all that You have created.
You see and know us all.
You test every human heart,
take delight in the righteous,
and are never fooled by the deceit of the wicked.
The wicked will receive Your justice and see destruction.
The righteous will receive Your justice and see Your loving face.
And that’s how it will be –
no matter how hard the wicked try to defeat Your plans.
I rest in You. I will not fear.
Amen.
