Thank You for Your beautiful Creation,
Lord, God of Glory.
I hear the sun call silently, as day follows day,
“God is with you, God is faithful, God is life!
God is glorious in splendour, majesty and power!”
And the moon whispers its reply, as the night sky darkens,
“Yes, He is, even in the darkest night.
God is with you, God sees you, God cares.”
When I turn to You in reverent awe,
hungry to know You, God of creation,
You reach out with the wonder of Your Word.
Its pages whisper at every turn –
Your perfect Law, Your trustworthy commands,
Your life-giving wisdom and righteous judgments,
the full and perfect revelation of Your magnificence!
As I open my heart,
those whispers turn to Life-giving Breath,
infusing me with strength and joy,
the knowledge of Your will, Your ways, Your wondrous glory!
And so I pray:
Shine the Light of Your Word into the depths of my heart.
Cast Your Light into every shadowy corner.
Drive out the darkness I do not see.
Purify my soul of secret sins and willful wickedness.
Cause me to display Your glory.
May my thoughts –
held silently in my heart
or spoken aloud into Your world –
bring You joy.
This day and forever, O Lord,
my Rock and my Redeemer.
