O Lord my God,
I pray for those
whom You have called to lead Your people,
in the furtherance of Your Kingdom
on earth as it is in heaven.
When they face troubles, trials and dangers, Lord:
Answer their cries for help,
protect them,
send them all they need,
and deliver them,
I pray.
When they draw close to You in worship:
Draw them close to Yourself,
fill them with Your power,
grant them Your guidance,
set them on Your path
and accomplish Your purposes
through them,
and through the people they lead,
I pray.
Grant them the grace,
never to trust in anyone or anything else
but You and Your great power, Lord;
for all other hopes will fail them,
but You never will, O Lord!.
May I see with my own eyes
the wonders of Your Kingdom coming
in them and through them
as I entrust them to You this day.
