For new readers of the Blog, these daily devotions are based on a Psalm-per-day. The idea is that each of us should read the daily Psalm prayerfully, listen for what the Lord is saying to us, and then write a prayer based on the Psalm. By doing so, we are praying the Word of God; and that’s powerful!
The daily posts are my personal prayers based on each Psalm.
O LORD,
Your unfailing love and faithfulness
are my hope and inspiration.
I long to be like You
and to bring joy to Your heart,
and so I pray:
Be merciful to me and save me;
Purify me and make me pleasing to You;
Start Your work deep within me.
Examine my innermost being –
my longings, attitudes and thoughts.
Awaken in me such love for You
that it will overwhelm any need I have
to impress others,
or to win their acceptance or approval.
Only then will I be safe
from the dangerous and destructive path they’re on –
a path of spiritual death.
Place my feet on Your path of life instead!
Awaken in me
an ever-deepening love for Your presence and glory,
and a hunger to worship you.
In thanksgiving, I will testify
to the wonders You have done!
O LORD,
