Psalm 28

LORD,
You are the Bedrock of my life and my Firm Foundation.
Because You are with me,
I need not fear,
I can always stand secure.

Because I trust You, I pray:
Help me never to throw in my lot with the wicked,
never to manipulate with lies,
never to trust in my own deceptive scheming.
That would be to turn my back on You and Your help,
and I never want to do that.
That would be certain ruin!
For then Your hand would be against me
and not for me.
And if You were ever to ignore me or cut me off,
I could just as well be dead.

But I love You with all my heart,
and I know that You hear my every prayer and cry.
You do not turn a deaf ear to me,
because You have loved me first,
and You always respond in grace and mercy.

You are my Strength and my Protector –
I trust You with every fibre of my being!
You are a Fortress to all who love You,
so I praise You with songs of joy!
and I rejoice to belong to You!
I delight to live under Your hand of care and blessing,
my Saviour and my Shepherd.
