Psalm 49

Father God,
Remind me every day
how worthless earthly riches are.
No earthly wealth can pay the price
to set me free from sin!
No earthly wisdom ever keeps me
from my destined end!
No earthly greatness can exempt me
from that final breath!

Father,
Remind me every day
how futile it is
to trust myself,
my wealth,
my wisdom,
my greatness.

Only You
can truly satisfy me in this world.
Only You
can rescue me from every dangerous trap.
Only You
can pay the price to save me from death’s power.

Father,
I will trust You
I will follow You
I will love You
to the very end.
You will be my Gracious Guide,
my Shepherd
and my Friend!
Now
and forevermore.
