O LORD,
the world seems filled with the arrogant.
Intent on pursuing evil
at the expense of the innocent,
cutting others down with lies and slander,
they live to cause harm,
and they seem to prosper unashamedly!
LORD,
In the face of their wickedness, it is easy to lose heart.
So help me to remember
that You always have the final word.
Your judgments are inescapably right and true,
and those who trust in their wickedness
will surely be brought low in the end.
Their complacent vainglory will be their downfall.
LORD,
In Your mercy and kindness
protect me from the death-trap of pride.
Keep me forever
trusting
humbly
in Your eternal faithfulness
and Your unfailing love.
I am so grateful that You guard me
in Your goodness and grace.
Now, Lord,
make me fruitful by Your power
and for Your glory.
Now and forever.
