Psalm 53

O LORD,
You look upon our world and You see it all:
A dark world
rejecting You.
A dark world
of corruption and wickedness
filled with those who ignore
You,
Your will,
and Your ways.
You see those who,
seeking to follow You,
are targets of scorn,
derision,
abuse.
It seems the wicked prosper.
But,
we pray:

‘LORD,
Look on Your people with mercy
and favour
and come to our aid!’

So we believe with all our hearts:
Your Sun will rise with glory!
Your light
will overcome the darkness.
Your righteousness
will triumph over every last shadow of wickedness.
Your faithful family
will flourish in Your beautiful world again.
Let it be so,
O Lord,
let it be so.
Amen.
