Psalm 59

LORD God Almighty, My Refuge,
My Fortress and My Shield,
I trust in You with all my heart,
For You love me
and will never abandon me.
In You
and in Your love
I am safe
forever!

O LORD,
The world is full of such evil and cruelty.
Insults and threats are the order of the day
as the proud and powerful
bully and oppress
the weak and vulnerable.
Day by day their brutal attacks continue;
Night by night they plot our downfall,
as they strive to manipulate and control
all who stand in their way.

But my heart is set on You, Lord.
I will not be ruled by fear.
With all my heart, I trust in You
to deal with them in Your power;
to silence every proud boast
and bring them to their knees;
to scatter the rebellious like dust
and make them a warning to all.

You, LORD, are my Refuge,
My Shelter from every storm,
My Defender, Protector and Provider!
Night and day I sing for joy
as my heart finds strength in You
and in Your unfailing love.
