Psalm 62

LORD,
the One True and Living God,
what a wondrous and glorious God You are!
You alone are
my Protector and Saviour,
my Defence against every onslaught.

Many are the attacks of the enemy
who targets my weakness
with lies and deception,
desperate
to trick me,
to tempt me,
to trip me up,
and turn me back from following You.

LORD,
All my hope and confidence
are in You.
I wait for You,
I trust in you,
I depend on You alone.
For You alone are
my Protector and Saviour,
my Defence against every onslaught.

Nothing can ever be gained
by trusting in people
and their plots.
Our lives are but a breath,
our days pass as a whisper,
and our best laid plans
soon fall apart.

But You, LORD,
are perfect in power and love;
and I choose to trust in You
at all times,
my Lord and my God.
Amen.
