Psalm 64

Father God,
I am in danger!
Protect me, I pray,
from the wicked schemes,
blatant lies,
and cruel slander
of those intent on destroying me.

With arrogance, they plot my downfall –
too blind to see
the injustice of their ways.
I don’t understand!
What on earth are they thinking?
Why are they intent on this cruelty?

Father God, I trust You,
to establish justice,
to bring their arrogance down
on their own heads
and to expose their slanderous lies.
I rest in Your protection.

I know you will vindicate me
and set me on my feet again.
And all who see it
will praise Your Holy Name,
now and forever. Amen!
