Psalm 82

O LORD,
come and establish Your sovereign rule
over all the nations of the world.

Lord, in Your mercy, we pray:
Call to account
all monarchs and prime ministers,
presidents and autocrats,
those who set themselves up in power
and those duly elected to rule.
Eradicate injustice and partiality.
Inspire generous justice towards
the poor and needy,
orphans, widows,
and the helpless and vulnerable of our world.
Drive out the spirit of corruption and injustice,
violence and brutality,
and purge the pride and arrogance
of wicked leaders
who destroy the lives of the innocent
in their voracious pursuit of power.

O LORD,
come and establish Your sovereign rule
over all the nations of the world.
