This Psalm is a song in praise of Jerusalem, the City of God. I am using it to pray for the Church, God’s People, the ‘New Jerusalem’.
O Lord,
as You build Your Church
to be a dwelling place
for Your beauty and glory,
You draw together
a rich and colourful array of people
to display Your magnificence
through our lives of obedience.
You fill us with joy in Your presence
and draw us to Yourself,
for in You
is the Fountain of Life.
Lord, draw me closer to Yourself today
and help me to build
better, more beautiful,
deeper, more devoted
relationships of brotherly love
with all those You draw to Yourself
and place alongside me
in this diverse tapestry
of Your People.
Amen.
