Psalm 97

LORD,
You are awesome in holiness!

You move among us,
shrouded in mystery,
and the whole earth shakes!
The cloud of Your glory descends,
with the blinding light of Your presence
and every obstacle,
every enemy
melts away!

In the day of Your Presence and Power –
the heavens rejoice in Your Holiness,
the nations know Your Glory
and every idol bows low
before the one and only King,
the King of all Creation.

Holy God,
I remember who You are
and all that You have done.
I turn from my evil ways
and reject all other ‘gods’.
In reverence and awe
I bow down
and rejoice in Your Holy Name,
O God, my Refuge and Salvation
I bring You thanks and praise.
Amen.
