Thanksgiving | Tuesday

I hope yesterday’s reflections on how the Lord has blessed us in our spiritual lives proved helpful for you. I know my list was very revealing. God is truly good, and He has done great things for us!

Today we’ll turn our attention to the way the Lord has blessed us through other people.

In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, we read this beautiful statement of praise:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

These verses remind us that God very often comes to us through others. He doesn’t only minister to us spiritually in the deep recesses of our hearts and minds, but He touches us in very tangible ways through the care, friendship, compassion and kindness of others.

Take time today to think back on your life’s journey in 2025 and write out as comprehensive a list as possible of all the ways God has enriched your life through other people. Think about:

  1. The family members through whom God has particularly blessed your life – and how they have each blessed you;
  2. The friends and other people (even strangers) through whom God has particularly blessed your life – and how they have each blessed you.

Lord, thank You for never leaving me alone. Thank you for coming to me by Your Spirit in my moments of deep solitude and “alone-ness”, when no one else is around. Thank You for also coming to me through the people whom You have graciously brought across my path to be Your hands and feet in my life. Amen.
