Psalm 10

LORD, You are King Forever!

I confess:
When I see the material success of the wicked,
living in blatant rebellion against You,
Proud of their immorality,
Cursing and rejecting You,
Brimming with hatred,
Lying, slandering and intimidating the downtrodden
with threats and violence.
Bullying and crushing the weak.
Succeeding in everything –
I am so frustrated and confused.
It’s easy to think
that You don’t notice, or maybe You don’t care,
that You are doing nothing about it.

But this I call to mind:
You are King Forever!
You see and know all things.
You pursue righteousness and justice.
You care deeply about the plight
of the lowly, the needy, the oppressed and the vulnerable.
You always hear our cries.
You always come to our aid.
You will break their power.
You will stop them in their tracks.
You will give us courage.

So I know:
The days of the wicked are numbered.
Their reign of terror will end.
Your Kingdom of Justice and Peace will come.
You are King Forever.
