Psalm 146

O LORD,
I praise You
with every fibre of my being,
and I will praise You
as long as I have breath!

Those whose hope is in humanity
will be deeply disappointed
and all their best laid plans
will crumble like ruins in the sand.

But all who trust in You, LORD,
will be blessed beyond belief.
You are worthy of our absolute surrender
for You are the Creator of all,
the Promise-keeping God,
the just and generous Judge,
the gracious Giver of
food to the hungry,
freedom to the captives,
and sight to the blind.

You love with an everlasting love
all Your righteous ones,
the weak and the lonely,
the vulnerable foreigners,
the widow and the orphan.
And You defeat the wicked oppressors
who seek their destruction.

LORD,
You are King forever.
you reign over time and eternity.
I praise You
with every fibre of my being,
and I will praise You
as long as I have breath!
